Context
Context
This project explored how internal tools could support employees transitioning to a hybrid work model.

Opportunity
The Opportunity
Hybrid work introduced flexibility but also new friction. Employees reported challenges such as meeting fatigue, digital distractions, blurred work–life boundaries, and reduced opportunities for focused work. Research showed: 77% of employees follow a hybrid attendance policy 57% are expected to work in the office at least 10 days per month The opportunity was to help employees plan their work rhythm more intentionally across home and office environments.
Product
A schedule and note system for intentional workdays
We designed a work management tool that helps employees organize meetings, focus time, and project notes in one place. The system integrates meeting schedules with personal planning so employees can intentionally structure their workday. Key features:
Auto Schedule: Generates a weekly schedule based on existing meetings from connected calendar tools.
Smart Focus Sessions: Users can insert protected focus time based on their availability.
Work Zones: Organize sessions by project and attach notes to each work block.
Dynamic Status: Schedules visually adapt as users switch between focus time, meetings, and project work.
Feedback
Early Feedback
Initial internal testing showed encouraging results. 100% of testers successfully completed the scheduling task. 88% reported that the tool helped save time when planning their workdays. These early signals suggested that integrated scheduling and focus planning could meaningfully support hybrid workflows.
Reflection
What I Learned
This project highlighted how internal tools can support healthier work patterns in hybrid environments. It also reinforced the importance of translating research insights into practical product features quickly within sprint timelines. Even small internal tools require thoughtful design to encourage adoption and provide real value to employees.
